Axios × Generation Lab National Poll
A national survey of 1,075 respondents on President Trump's job performance, the cost of living, the 2026 midterms and the 2028 field, housing, the U.S.–Iran war, China, AI, and friendship. Filter results by demographic to explore how views differ across gender, party, race, ethnicity, and education.
This study was conducted from July 29 to August 4, 2026 from a representative sample of 1,075 respondents. The margin of error is ±3.01 percentage points.
Generation Lab's respondent panel is built from vetted national address frames (sourced via USPS Delivery Sequence Files) and authenticated referrals, with each respondent verified through IP, phone, and identity checks. Results are weighted to U.S. Census benchmarks for age, gender, race, and voting behavior.
Subgroup margins of error are larger than the overall MoE, and grow smaller as the subgroup shrinks. Q7 (2028 nomination) is asked of party subsamples and shown separately for Democrats, Republicans, and independents/other. Demographic breakdowns are available for the questions that carry crosstabs; other items show topline results only. Very small cells (e.g., Nonbinary respondents) should be read as directional. Race breakdowns cover groups with adequate sample; American Indian/Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander respondents are included in totals but not broken out separately.
